animal blood is is not the same and doesnt give you what you really need if you are a real vampyre but some people just drink blood not because the need to but because they want to...

they dont have the same life force as a human its not as effective...

i think you can easy lose control over yourself with drinking human blood. and if you kil someone, it will be noticed, and they will start an investigation. but with animals; who cares about a dead cat, dog, sheep or cow? nobody. so i think it`s safer to drink from animals.
but human blood however, sounds better to me than animal blood.

as a full time E.M.T as well as 6 months into becoming a paramedic, the danger of drinking from a human has more to do with the cutting, infections and suringes that sre mainly used to draw the blood and noy so much the blood itself if testing is done and the donor is clean,

animal blood is the safest and very clean if boiled first, as well as allowing you to avoid any possible damage to a fellow human being,

if it is the energy the blood holds and you decide to feed from another human take caution, my advice this sort of practice should be avoided, and psy feeding may be a much beeter alternative, with practice and effort anyone can psy feed,

Animal blood is pretty risky, and even after boiling, can still harbor many many nasty little parasites. It is hardly safe. I prefer being able to ask my Pranalerians, and I have yet master the languages of other animals. ; )

If human blood is not something that you feel you need, that is understandable. Some however do, as one of the sangs that Kaboom is talking about, I have found..that while I like as much as I can get within reason..I don't really need an awful lot.

My husband and I use lancets, we always clean the area and we practice screening measures. We have not had ONE case of infection or even a mark so noticeable that it couldn't be described as having had fallen in gravel.

The most lasting effect is a little bit of scar tissue in a few areas we went over too soon. While I regret that, he does the bit with the lancet himself, and we have learned from the experience, and the scarring is minimal. (You would never think to ask him what it was from should you actually notice it.)

I have never lost control, or even had the urge to lose control when feeding. I have had "special moments" when confronted with blood, while hungry, rather unexpectedly..but never during a feeding. I have great love and respect for my Pranalerians, and I would never do them harm.

This topic I've always found interest in. I'm a Sanguine and while I do crave blood I refuse to resort to ingesting animals blood. An occasional rare or blue steak is good. But For the most part I enjoy well done meat. I'm a skeptic and always have been when it comes to taking animals blood. It's funny you should mention "you heard or read that" animal blood is safer.... I never heard of that. I think it would be safer to take blood from another human being, atleast you have the option of getting that "human being" tested. Unlike with animals you don't have that choice. You pretty much have to take what you can get.

I'm apart of other various vampire communities and in majority of them, animal blood is not preferred it's just easier to get. Some claim to buy it from a butchers at their local meat market for a few bucks. They say it comes easy. Some even buy more than they need for a period of time take it home and freeze it in packs to preserve it's vitality. I prefer My donor to be My companion. Prior I have met with individuals and went out gotten to know one another, within a few weeks had tests done and confirmed they're being clean. But to Me that's just not a habit I want to keep.

And I hear often how some newly awakened and sometime older vampires will say how they loose control. I've never loss control and attacked another person or even thought of it. I've thought and fantasized of feeding on a few people but most of the time that's when I'm experiencing symptoms of blood starvation. Not on a regular everyday basis!

I now don't have to worry about searching for a blood donor. Psi donors come a dime a dozen for Me so theres no real need to search. But back on the topic. I find it ironic that you heard animals blood was safer when I know animals carry diseases and are not all dead unless the meat itself is cooked thoroughly. I have never taken animals blood and therefore can't say whether or not it's more healthy or whether or not it doesn't do anything for them. But I do know that there are some vamps in high places that claim it does. So I guess that's open for debate. However I'd just stick to human's blood and with someone I preferably know very well. It's not something I am that open about in My real life. Only those in My intermediate family know I"m a vampire. When I say intermediate I mean brothers/sisters mother, My son, fiance . That's about it.

I can't say what's safe for you, as I am not you.

For me, animal blood is safe. Boiled, it is unsafe for me. Also it must be from an animal that only lead a healthy lifestyle. I have not found blood at a butcher, but then I haven't looked to a butcher for blood. I do get energy from animal blood. I would not think of freezing it. I don't see how there can be much if any life force in anything that has been ever been frozen. Maybe before it thaws it might work. I'm not kidding! Maybe as some sort of frozen popsicle treat. I haven't tried that, it's a thought though. Various animals don't have usable energy for me.

Yes, humans can be tested, and usually animals live under deplorable conditions or are just dirty. Do whichever way is right. We have instincts.

If your bioterrain and energy are both good, parasites will not take hold.

Some of us need blood, and cannot last the time it would take to learn to replace it with psy feeding. There should be no shame in that. It's a shame if we in our own community cannot accept each other as we are.

Having donors is the safest, and intellegent route because of blood testing which doesn't happen with animal blood

Animal blood is no safer than human blood because of cross species infections, period. Also the blood from the animal must be taken before rigormortus sets in so that the blood doesn't start to go necrotic. This gives a person about 3 hours to drain a beast of its blood before the rest of the blood is unuseable.

Cooking the blood renders it useless as well, might as well eat a steak if you cook the blood because cooking it kills the enzymes and amino acids that real hematophagous Vampyres need to absorb because of certain deficiencies of the bone marrow.
