I still and will always believe that vampyres unlike humans need energy from other sources because there body does not have enough for what we are. I like you also believe we are spiritually different than humans and that what we are is a spiritual condition. The simple Definition of VAMPYRE is one who needs energy (LIFE FORCE) because our bodies don't have enough for our soul. We take it through the blood (some of the life force or human energy is in the blood) of be the taking of it directly if we are strong enough. Most Vampyres are tired and drained when alone but are usually hyper, often have high anxiety, and feel high and extremely powerful when around large crowds. We may may also take it from animals and nature (as well as music sometimes) but the best source is human since we are also human.

I also think there is a very valid reason why the more we Awaken, the more a good deal of us find ourselves drawing the energy we need from various living things surrounding us.
Within our physical structure, we also contain the ability (..and required parts, just not in the right sequence..) to have been: a tree, a bird, a bug. ..lol.. I don't think it is coincidence.
Our overall "spiritual sanity" requires that we focus on our "current spiritual vehicle" if you will. But I don't think that we are limited to human energy. I kind of see at is the "meat and potatos" on the table.
By all means, if I were to try and survive on the energies of the plantlife around me alone, I would quickly find myself suffering quite a deficit.
However, I do believe those same energies to be a much needed surplus if you will..rather like a vitamin. We can survive without them, but our overall "health" can be vastly improved with a well rounded "diet."

I can't wait to get a copy of the new book. One day I hope to have a collection of works written by you man, that would be so frackin' awesome!; ▶ Reply to This

I do however find myself getting energy from music and this could possibly be from the emotions of the writers of the music? I also get lots of energy from the moon and the night life; possibly from the goddess helping me along...; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by TempleUVUP Administrator on July 8, 2008 at 2:41am: Perhaps the music attunes you to the surrounding energies, causing you to be better able to draw those "feel good" energies that are attuned with you as an individual? Kind of like an "energy radar" if you will.

Music is a part of so much, up to and including the very nuances that are found existent in nature. It's not a wonder that it would have very powerful effects, especially to those more intune with energy work. Being Vampyres, we have alot more experience with that than most..Even if we do it unconciously sometimes, it's something we do for survival, so we do it on rather an instinctual level.

You know how easily I can get carried away with a tune..lol..but I always feel good from it, and that is a signal to me that developing an "energy radar." (Gods, that term is so corny, but it says what I mean...lol..) is worth exploration.

And I know there are many times that I have stopped in the middle of my day to thank the Great Mother for her influence in the events that have unfolded since I got out of bed..I remember how bad it was before..and I am so greatful for the Strength I have found in my Path. Hail Lilith! (the Great Mother by all her names) Hail Kali Ma! and Hail Shivah! (doesn't do to forget the masculine).

Someone once told me we are ALL divine (hmmm..let me think...ahhhh yes, that was YOU JP) ..lol.. The masculine is every bit as vital as the feminine. It's about time sexism died in the Pagan world..lol..

Permalink Reply by timothy magness on February 4, 2010 at 8:28pm: very well put I think that there are those of us who can simply focus on the blood energy of others without ever having to spill a drop but that it takes time to develope that way I found myself to be that way when I spent time in Iraq I could get full from others life force and yet I did so without physicaly ingesting their blood to reveal myself there would have put me and my unit in alot of peril because they still have a very unfavorable veiw of vampires in that part of the world and I would not reveal it to any one in my unit because none of them would have accepted it they held to the belife that vampires and wiccans alike were evil even though the army discourages such thinking.; ▶ Reply to This
