Affection, kinship, and Vampyrism

I have recently realized something. We as Vampyres need kinship because love and affection are very powerful emotions (energy) that we feed on with or without realizing it; that is why many of us desire relationships. There are the solitary of us but I personally cannot see how they can function alone. With out people how do they feed? They must have there ways but I myself desire affection and cannot survive on my own or I go crazy. I know I must feed a lot or I suffer a lot because I have a high metabolism and am a Priest/Father and an old soul...

Permalink Reply by Kher Heb Neferai on June 16, 2009 at 5:43pm: From the perspective of one who is sick often due to her own sense of inner conflict over the feeding issue, I totally agree that those who rely on others for energy must maintain relationships wherein energy is exchanged on a daily, even often an hourly basis.

In the case of myself, I have energy available in the form of a therianthrope husband who creates more energy than he can safely use and as a result suffers bipolar episodes when overloaded. If I refuse, due to feeling guilty or evil, to feed on a regular basis (which I often fall prey to) he suffers. We have a strong relationship, and energy exchange was not the cause of it, but has enhanced and deepened our connection.

But I can understand that sometime people end up not being apart because of wanting to avoid the drama that come sometime in the mist of it. But we have to get beyond the drama and began to heal what ever it is in order to move on. Sometime this is our reason for lack of Love and Affection. Because these feeling are strong, we have to know what we want in the friendship or relationship of others before hand or it can be mistaken and then there are loss and hurt people. No matter the level of it, communication, truthfulness, and understanding must be apart of the openness of love and affection. In this perhaps people will be drawn more together. Vampires and Doners alike.

Just my thought on it.
